Create public awareness about the council’s spending, rate increases, and related issues.

Hold public meetings to debate and discuss our knowledge and understanding?

Break down the problem into smaller, manageable topics for deeper investigation.

4. Transparency & Accountability in Investigating the Council

a) Investigate council members: Identify those responsible for questionable decisions.

b) Research staff involvement: Understand the role of council STAFF in decision-making.

Map out connections between council members, funding sources, and external influences.

5. Crafting the Message to Communicate the dangers to the local residents

Identify the best communication channels (social media, community meetings, local media).

Create a branding strategy that reflects integrity and community focus.

6. Holding People Accountable: Publicly address individuals responsible for decisions that harm the

community. Use factual evidence to present the case to the public.

Formulate direct but respectful questions that demand transparency and accountability.

7. Public Awareness & Mobilization Campaign: Engaging the Community

Plan a multi-channel awareness campaign that is accessible and easy to understand.

Educate the public on how council decisions are affecting their property rights and their families.

Organize community events and peaceful demonstrations to build solidarity.

Launch a petition or community letter to show widespread support.

It's time the council opened its books and showed us exactly where our money is going. We want detailed breakdowns, public audits, and an end to the largescale spending that's directed by external influences. 

Our goal is simple: to ensure that every decision made by the Whangarei District Council is in the best interests of the community. We're pushing for independent oversight, and a commitment to ethical governance. No more ignoring the voices of the local residents.

We're not just complaining; we're taking action. CROW is organizing public forums, launching investigations, and working with legal experts to hold the council accountable. We're building a movement of Concerned Residents Of Whangarei CROW who are ready to fight for a better Whangarei.

**CROW is Unveiling the Mysteries of Local Government**

CROW, or Concerned Residents Of Whangarei, is a grass roots movement by citizens who've had enough of the council's financial irresponsibility & lack of transparency.

We're Robin Hood, not robbing the hood.

Instead of stealing from the citizens, we're trying to pry open the council's financial plan and see where all our hard-earned cash is vanishing to. Think of us as the financial watchdogs of Whangarei.

Ah, the million-dollar question! Or rather, the multi-million-dollar question, considering how much we're all paying. The council claims it's for 'essential services' and 'infrastructure improvements,' but we suspect a good chunk of it is going towards gold-plated W.O.K.E elephants and lavish staff retreats in the Fiji. We're here to demand a full audit, expose the details, and find out where the money is really going. Prepare for some serious number crunching!

CROW is a non-partisan movement, meaning we don't care if you're left or right wing, as long as you're fed up with the council's fiscal follies. Our only allegiance is to the good people of Whangarei and their wallets. We're here to hold ALL politicians and council staff accountable, regardless of their party affiliation.

Our plan is simple: transparency, accountability, and a whole lot of common sense. We want to see a council that spends our money wisely, listens to the concerns of residents, and stops treating Whangarei like a W.O.K.E piggy bank. We envision a future where rates are reasonable, services are top-notch, and everyone can afford to live comfortably without having to sell their kidneys to pay the bills. It's a lofty goal, but we're crazy enough to think we can achieve it.
